Lion's Mane

Ultrasonic-assisted extraction is a non-toxic, chemical-free extraction method that allows us to access the active components in Lion’s Mane. Without an extraction process these compounds would remain inaccessible, bound up in the tough cell walls of the mushroom. Ultrasonic-assisted extraction is safer and more effective compared to conventional extraction processes. It provides: - A greater yield of active components. - A shorter and faster extraction time. - Reduced reliance on additional extraction steps. - Reduced thermal degradation of heat sensitive mushroom constituents thanks to lower temperatures compared with conventional methods. - A less energy intensive process which is more environmentally sustainable compared to conventional extraction processes. - No harsh extraction solvents: instead, this process uses Generally Recognised as Safe (GRAS) solvents such as water to achieve full-spectrum extracts.

The level of active compounds in a Lion’s Mane supplement are affected by which part of the mushroom is used, and how it is extracted and processed. Both the mycelium (underground part of a mushroom) and the fruiting body (the part we see above ground) are rich in active compounds. However, most commercial mycelium products are grown on grain and are not separated from it before processing. According to the AOAC-validated study by McCleary & Draga [9], most of the products studied contained higher amounts of alpha-glucan (starch from the grain), while beta-glucan levels were very low. In contrast, properly grown and extracted fruiting body products—like ours—have been shown to contain much higher levels of the active beta-glucans (often over 30%), with negligible starch content.

Of course, but without the proper extraction processes (especially of non-water-soluble compounds) you won’t be able to access all the health benefits of Lion’s Mane. There’s also high variability in the active compound content depending on what you’re growing the mushrooms on, the growing conditions, and how old the mushrooms are when you harvest them. And unless you're growing in liquid culture, you won’t produce erinacines, which require very specific conditions.

Match the delivery frequency to how quickly you use the product. 5-HTP is a 30 day supply, so one bottle every 30 days is the simplest option. If you want fewer parcels, you can order more bottles and choose a longer frequency, such as 2 bottles every 60 days or 3 bottles every 90 days.

No. Unless a product page or offer clearly says otherwise, standard subscriptions do not have a fixed minimum term. You are only responsible for orders that have already been processed before your change or cancellation request is received.
